Community Guidelines

Last updated: 2026-05-12. CheckAGrade only works if the data members submit is honest. These guidelines describe what we expect, what we won't tolerate, and how moderation works.

What good contribution looks like

Submit sales you yourself bought, sold, or directly observed on eBay.
Match the grader and grade in the eBay listing exactly.
Use the sold price as shown in the listing — no rounding, no estimating.
Pick the right card from the catalogue search — name, set, and number matter.
Skip any sale you suspect was a wash trade, a private deal made public, or a price the listing later changed.

How moderation works

You submit an eBay URL plus your claim (card, grader, grade, price).
The site auto-fetches the listing and checks: domain is genuinely eBay, listing is sold (not active), title matches the card you picked, grader+grade match, sold date is recent, price aligns.
If everything matches, the sale goes live immediately. If anything's off, it's queued for human review.
An admin reviews each queued submission and approves or rejects with a note.
Approved sales earn +5 reputation. Rejected sales lose -2 reputation. Pending submissions earn no reputation until reviewed.

Disputes & flags

Once your account is at least 7 days old, you can flag any verified sale you believe is inaccurate or fraudulent. Use the flag button on the sale row. A moderator reviews flagged sales and may un-verify the entry if the flag stands.

Flagging is rate-limited (20 flags / day) to prevent brigading. Flags from very new accounts are ignored.

Appeals

If you believe a moderator action was wrong, reply to the email you received explaining the action, or write to support@lazylabs.uk within 10 days with your username, the action you're appealing, and any context. We aim to reply within 5 working days.

Off-platform conduct

CheckAGrade does not handle transactions, host messaging, or arbitrate disputes. Communication between members happens on third-party platforms (Discord, eBay, Instagram, etc.). Report harassment or scams to the platform you were using and, if it relates to CheckAGrade activity, to support@lazylabs.uk.

Discord server

If you join our Discord server, the same expectations apply: honest contribution, civility, no impersonation, no scams. Repeated rule-breaking in the Discord can lead to action on your CheckAGrade account.
